The Israeli army targeted Hezbollah’s Radwan Force in Lebanon’s Bekaa Valley, causing widespread casualties and material damage.
According to the International News Agency, 12 Hezbollah fighters were martyred and several others were injured in these latest attacks by the Israeli Air Force on Lebanon.
Meanwhile, Lebanese state media reported that Israel carried out airstrikes on a refugee camp, including 7 Syrian refugees, among the dead.
On the other hand, an Israeli army spokesman claimed that the airstrikes were carried out on Hezbollah’s training facilities that were being used for military operations against Israel.
The Israeli army spokesman added that the presence of these Hezbollah military training centers is also a clear violation of the ceasefire agreement reached in November.
Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz threatened that these attacks are a clear message to both Hezbollah and the Lebanese government. We will target anyone who plots against Israeli citizens or our land.
It should be noted that since the ceasefire in November 2023, Israel has carried out several airstrikes against Hezbollah in southern Lebanon, but has rarely attacked the Bekaa Valley.
The area was previously considered a major arms smuggling route for Hezbollah until the fall of the Bashar al-Assad regime.
Last week, the Israeli army raided military installations of the Bashar al-Assad regime and seized approximately 3 tons of weapons, which it claims were intended to be smuggled into Lebanon.
According to Israeli media, Hezbollah’s Radwan force had planned a major attack on northern Israel in recent years, but the plan was postponed after Hamas attacked southern Israel on October 7, 2023.
