Singapore’s NTU Launches Cutting-Edge Degrees in Robotics and High-Tech Chemistry Singapore’s NTU Launches Cutting-Edge Degrees in Robotics and High-Tech Chemistry

NTU Singapore is rolling out two new undergraduate programs in August 2025, aimed at preparing students for the future of robotics and advanced chemical and pharmaceutical manufacturing.

The new degrees are designed to meet growing global demand for robotic experts as industries continue to automate. They also aim to create a talent pipeline with rare expertise in both chemistry and chemical engineering, supporting Singapore’s push toward a high-tech economy.

The Bachelor of Engineering in Robotics will equip students with hands-on skills that match industry needs, aligning with Singapore’s vision to become a Smart Nation. The program blends mechanical, mechatronics, electrical, and artificial intelligence courses, giving students a broad and deep foundation for careers in the rapidly evolving robotics sector.

Meanwhile, the Double Major Bachelor of Engineering Science in Process Engineering and Synthetic Chemistry is the first of its kind in Singapore. It’s designed to produce graduates who can bridge the gap between chemistry and chemical engineering a skill set that is currently rare. This program supports Singapore’s goal of becoming a hub for advanced manufacturing and innovation.

Both degrees are interdisciplinary, incorporating courses in artificial intelligence and machine learning to ensure students are well-prepared for the changing demands of science and industry.
