Kamala Harris: 'My political journey is not over', hints at running for president again Kamala Harris: 'My political journey is not over', hints at running for president again

Former US Vice President Kamala Harris has said she is not retiring from politics and is likely to run for president again.

In an interview with the BBC, which will air on Sunday, Harris said she could be “probably” the next president, the clearest indication yet of a re-election bid for the White House in 2028, even though she is far behind in opinion polls.

Harris said no final decision has been made yet, but she is confident that one day a woman will be in the White House.

In his words, “My work is not finished yet. I have spent my whole life for public service, it is part of my nature. “

Harris dismissed poll reports that put her as the weakest candidate in the race for the Democratic nomination, even trailing Hollywood actor Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.
“If I had ever believed the survey reports, I would not have contested my first or second election, and certainly would not have sat here today,” he said. “

Speaking on the British program “Sunday with Laura Kunzberg”, Harris said that her warnings about Donald Trump’s authoritarian behaviour proved to be correct. He called Trump a “dictator” and a “sensitive person” who is using the justice system against his political opponents.

Harris cited the suspension of comedy show host Jimmy Kimmel, who was fired by ABC after she mocked the Republican backlash over the murder of conservative activist Charlie Kirk. Trump welcomed the decision, even as ABC faced pressure from a Trump-appointed regulator.

“Trump said he would use the Justice Department for his own interests, and he did,” Harris said. His health is so fragile that he cannot tolerate ridicule, so he tried to shut down a media outlet.

He also criticised the American business community for bowing to Trump. “Many have bowed to the dictator from the very beginning to stay close to power, or to get approval for a merger, or to evade investigations,” he says.

“When Kamala Harris suffered her worst defeat in the election, she should have understood that the American people were not interested in her lies,” a White House spokesman told the BBC. “
Kamala Harris is currently on a world tour for her new book “107 Days,” based on her brief 2024 presidential campaign. The campaign began when President Joe Biden withdrew from the presidential race following speculation about mental health.

Harris says the main reason for her defeat was limited campaign duration. However, questions remain over his communicative style, perception of truth, and weak connection to the working class.
The Democratic Party has also yet to consider the extent to which Biden’s unwavering support for the war on Israel has alienated voters.
