The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced key decisions after its annual meeting.
The ICC’s annual meeting decided that the 2027, 2029 and 2031 World Test Championship (WTC) finals will be hosted by England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB).
The ICC commended the ECB for its successful hosting of the 2021, 2023 and 2025 finals and awarded it the right to host for three consecutive editions.
The meeting also saw progress on a special support programme for migrant women cricketers from Afghanistan.
The programme is being developed in collaboration with the ICC, Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), ECB and Cricket Australia (CA) and is being overseen by ICC Deputy Chairman Imran Khawaja.
The programme aims to support these players through high-performance opportunities, participation in domestic cricket and participation in global events such as the 2025 ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup and the 2026 Women’s T20 World Cup.
The ICC has directed the United States Cricket Board (USA Cricket) to hold transparent and fair elections within three months to address governance issues.
The board also made it clear that it reserves the right to take appropriate action if necessary.
During the meeting, East Timor and Zambia (Zambia Cricket Union) were granted associate membership of the ICC, bringing the total number of ICC members to 110.
