Meta is introducing an interesting new feature to WhatsApp to further integrate its social media apps.
According to a report by WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is working on a new feature through which users will be able to import their Instagram or Facebook profile photo directly into WhatsApp and set it as their profile picture.
This feature is currently available to limited users in the beta version of WhatsApp for Android devices and it is extremely easy to use.
Users simply have to go to WhatsApp’s profile settings and click on “Edit profile picture” where they will see options for Instagram and Facebook (if this feature is enabled for them).
Currently, WhatsApp users can change their profile photo by selecting a photo from their phone gallery, creating a digital avatar or using an AI-generated image.
But this new feature will allow them to import profile photos from other Meta apps.
According to the report, this feature is optional and will be turned off by default.
To use it, users will need to link their WhatsApp account to the Meta Account Center, however, this will not affect user privacy.
Since this feature is still in beta, it is unclear when it will be generally available to all users.
It is expected that this feature will be rolled out to all WhatsApp users soon, further improving communication between Meta’s apps.
