China’s special envoy for the Middle East, Xi Jun, meets with Arab ambassadors in Beijing
Beijing: China has called on Israel to immediately cease its military operations in the Gaza Strip and adopt a two-state solution to the Palestinian issue. China has also called for strengthening unity among Arab countries.
This was stated by China’s Deputy Permanent Representative to the UN Geng Shuang during a recent meeting of the UN Security Council. He said that China is deeply concerned about Israel’s actions, which could further worsen the situation in the region.
The Chinese envoy said: “The full implementation of the two-state solution and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state are the only sustainable solution to the Palestinian issue.” He also stressed the urgent need for an effective and lasting ceasefire agreement.
Meanwhile, China’s special envoy for the Middle East, Xi Jun, met with ambassadors of Arab countries in Beijing and said that China wants Arab countries to play a more active role in the Palestinian cause and maintain unity among themselves.
This statement comes at a time when, according to reports, the Israeli leadership is considering a plan to completely occupy Gaza, which is likely to further aggravate the situation.
