Dhaka: ACC grants full membership to Mongolia, Uzbekistan and Philippines.

The annual general meeting of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) was held in Dhaka on July 24, in which representatives of all member countries of the organization participated. The meeting was chaired by ACC President and Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Mohsin Naqvi.

Mohsin Naqvi expressed his sincere gratitude to Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) President Aminul Haque Islam for hosting the meeting and termed the holding of the AGM in Dhaka for the first time as a historic occasion. He highly appreciated the professional, friendly and organized hosting of the BCB.

The meeting approved the audited financial accounts, budget and complete tournament calendar for the financial year 2025-2026, while the inclusion of cricket in the Asian Games to be held in Japan in 2026 was also announced, in which 10 men’s and 8 women’s teams will participate. The teams will be selected on the basis of their rankings.

The ACC has formally admitted Mongolia, Uzbekistan and the Philippines as member countries, expanding the reach of cricket to new and emerging regions.

At the meeting, all member countries reaffirmed their commitment to the promotion and development of cricket in the Asian region and agreed to uphold the spirit of always putting the game first.
