The Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced new fees for issuing new driving licenses and learning permits.
According to Arab media, the learning permit fee for motorcycles, light vehicles and light automatic vehicles has been set at 100 dirhams, while the fee for light and heavy buses, mechanical machinery and heavy vehicles will be 200 dirhams.
The Traffic Department has set a file opening fee of 200 dirhams, a safe driving guide fee of 50 dirhams, and a minimum and maximum fee of 140 dirhams for the eye test. In addition, each applicant will also have to pay a 20 dirham innovation and knowledge fee.
For the issuance of a driving license, a fee of 100 dirhams will be charged from those under the age of 21, while a fee of 300 dirhams will be charged from those 21 years of age and older, which includes a 20 dirham innovation fee.
The Roads Transport Authority says that if an applicant wants to change the category of their driving license from manual to automatic or from automatic to manual, they will have to pay an additional fee of 200 dirhams and 20 dirhams in innovation charges.
