New York: After Columbia University, Harvard University has also surrendered to the Trump administration.

The New York Times reported on Monday that Harvard University has announced a $500 million donation to end the dispute with the White House.

Sources have said that Harvard University is considering accepting the Trump administration’s demands and paying the money, but negotiations on financial terms are ongoing, while university leaders are also expressing reservations about making direct payments to the government.

In April, the US Department of Education said that it was cutting off $2 billion in aid to Harvard University due to its failure to change policies. The Trump administration had announced that Harvard and other universities would have to pay a penalty for government funding, like Columbia University.

It should be recalled that just a week ago, Columbia University agreed to pay the Trump administration more than $200 million to restore $400 million in grant funding, and Education Secretary Linda McMahon called the Columbia agreement a roadmap for top universities.

Donald Trump had said that he wanted to ensure that Harvard pays more than Columbia, considering that Harvard University has been embroiled in a legal battle with the White House since April, with the university’s president, Alan Garber, refusing to give in to Trump’s demands, for which he was highly praised.
