US Senator Cory Booker has said that he will continue to take steps to ensure better representation of all immigrant communities, including Pakistanis, in US courts.
Senator Cory Booker said this while addressing a fundraising dinner at the residence of APPAC Chairman Dr. Ijaz Ahmed.
Senator Cory Booker also spoke on immigration, the inclusion of various communities in the Democratic Party and the situation in Gaza.
American Pakistani Public Affairs Committee Chairman Dr. Ijaz Ahmed said that thanks to Senator Cory Booker, for the first time in US history, a Muslim Pakistani American, Zahid Qureshi, became a federal judge.
Senator Cory Booker also took strong steps to represent Adil Mangi in the circuit court. Although Adil Mangi could not be appointed, Senator Cory Booker’s support for the representation of Pakistani American Muslims remained extraordinary.
Dr. Ijaz Ahmed said that Senator Cory Booker has assured that he will continue his role in representing immigrant communities in various fields.
He demanded that there be a courageous leadership in the Democratic Party that would bring all communities to the decision-making table.
Senator Booker also spoke about the plight of Palestinians in Gaza. He condemned the attacks of October 7 but at the same time made it clear that Palestinians should be given full human rights.
Senator Cory Booker also expressed his intention to visit Pakistan and said that he would definitely go to Pakistan with a delegation.
