- Green card holders or those coming to the US on student visas do not have the same rights as a US citizen: Vice President
- After blocking illegal entry into the US, the next step is deportation: Vice President JD Vance’s speech
US Vice President JD Vance has said that the rate of illegal entry into the United States has decreased by 95 percent. Earlier, 1,500 people used to try to enter the United States illegally every day. Now this number has come down to 30.
In an interview with the American broadcaster ‘Fox News’, JD Vance said that after stopping the way to enter the United States illegally, the next step is deportation and with each passing day, the measures to send back those living in the United States illegally will increase.
According to the Vice President, illegal residents should leave the United States on their own. We do not need to come and tell them to return to their country. He said that if necessary, we will do that too.
In response to a question about the arrest of Columbia University student and Palestinian activist Mahmoud Khalil, the Vice President said that green card holders do not have the right to stay in the United States indefinitely.
A few days ago, US federal immigration authorities arrested a Palestinian student who played a prominent role in anti-Israel protests at Columbia University. Khalil was a green card holder.
The vice president said that green card holders or those who come to the United States on student visas do not have the same rights as an American citizen.
According to JD Vance, this is not a matter of freedom of expression but of US national security.
He said that if President Trump or the Secretary of State decide that a person should not be in the United States, they have the authority to make that decision.
