There has been significant progress regarding the trade agreement between Pakistan and the United States, for which Finance Minister Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb has left for Washington to complete the negotiations.
According to the Ministry of Finance, final discussions will be held on the Pak-US Trade Dialogue during the visit of Federal Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb to the United States, and the trade agreement will benefit the economies of both countries.
The Ministry of Finance statement said that strong trade relations between Pakistan and the United States are an important pillar. The United States is Pakistan’s largest trading partner. Pakistan wants to expand bilateral trade to traditional and non-traditional sectors.
According to the statement, there are vast opportunities for partnership in IT, minerals, and agriculture in Pakistan and the Finance Minister’s visit is a link to strengthen trade relations.
Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb says that there are bright prospects for further improvement in trade relations between Pakistan and the United States.
Earlier, a Pakistani delegation led by Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb visited Washington. During this time, the Finance Minister also met with the US Secretary of the Treasury and Trade Representative USTR.
According to the statement, the commitment to promote Pak-US trade relations and investment was reiterated, and the Pakistani delegation also met with the US Secretary of Commerce.
The Treasury Minister also met with US Trade Representative Jamieson Grier, where both of them described trade and economic relations as important pillars of bilateral relations.
The Treasury Minister said that the US is Pakistan’s largest trading partner, Pakistan wants to promote cooperation in traditional and non-traditional sectors, Pakistan is eager to expand IT, minerals, agriculture and other sectors.
