Colonel Amit Kumar Alleges Sexual Abuse and Cover-Up Within Indian Army Ranks
Colonel Amit Kumar, an officer in the Indian Army, has come forward with serious allegations of sexual abuse and misconduct by senior military officials. In a statement that has sent shockwaves across the defense community, Colonel Kumar claimed that his wife was sexually assaulted by high-ranking officers under the guise of duty and authority.
He alleges that the incident took place after he brought his wife from the family ward, during which she was subjected to sexual violence by officers, including generals and brigadiers. According to Colonel Kumar, despite the existence of video evidence, no official case has been registered, and justice has been systematically denied.
Colonel Kumar named three brigadiers and a lieutenant colonel in connection with the crime under FIR No. 33/2024. However, he claims all of them were exonerated through an internal investigation led by individuals closely associated with the accused. He pointed out that the Adjutant General is the brother of Lieutenant General S.P. Singh, while Brigadier Prabhu and Major General Sandeep—also named in the complaint—hold legal advisory roles, creating a conflict of interest.
He strongly criticized the silence of the Army leadership, questioning why no action has been taken on such grave allegations. “This is not mere negligence; it is a deliberate suppression of justice,” he said. He also claimed that the hospital has withheld medical documentation and that institutional corruption has made it impossible to expect accountability.
Colonel Kumar further alleged that efforts have been made to discredit his wife through misinformation and false character portrayals, aimed at protecting those in power. He stated that following a complaint by the National Commission for Women, SP Kangra—another official involved in the matter—was quietly transferred within five days.
He vowed to continue exposing the misconduct and cover-ups within the Western Command of the Indian Army. “Is the law not applicable to military officers? Who gave them the authority to violate the dignity of women?” he asked.
Colonel Kumar concluded his statement by criticizing the current administration, alleging that the Modi government has failed to hold military personnel accountable, thereby enabling abuse and suppressing victims through fear, character assassination, and systemic manipulation.
Note: These are allegations and should be treated as such unless confirmed by a court of law or official investigation. Victims of sexual violence deserve justice, and all accused are presumed innocent until proven guilty. Independent investigation and media verification are essential.
