Asaduddin Owaisi, the head of India’s religious party All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen, said, “My conscience does not allow me to watch a cricket match between India and Pakistan.”
The match scheduled for the Asia Cup is being played almost five months after the Pahalgam incident.
According to NDTV, the match to be held on September 14 was announced three days in advance, which was widely opposed in India and there were demands for a boycott of Pakistan.

During the debate on Operation Sindoor in Parliament, Owaisi raised the issue of the match between Pakistan and India and said that his conscience would never allow him to watch the match.
According to him, “When Pakistani ships cannot enter our airspace and boats cannot enter our territorial waters, trade has been stopped.” How can you play a match with Pakistan in such a situation?
He further said, “When we are not giving them water and are stopping 80% of the water and are also saying that water and blood will not flow, at such a time you will play a cricket match.”

The MP elected from Hyderabad also said, “Does the government have the courage to tell the 25 dead that we have taken revenge for Operation Sindoor and now watch the match with Pakistan.”
Eight countries are participating in the Asia Cup 2025, which starts on September 9.
As per the schedule, Pakistan and India will face each other on September 14. Both the teams are being declared favorites for the Super Four stage and may face each other once again during the tournament.
If both the teams reach the final, then there can be a third match between the two.
