Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and German Chancellor Angela Merkel have welcomed Donald Trump’s announcement of trilateral talks.

According to US media reports, an important meeting was held in the White House yesterday on how to end the Russia-Ukraine war. At the meeting, European leaders called for an immediate ceasefire and the start of trilateral talks.

After the meeting with Ukrainian President Zelensky and European leaders, the US President vowed to stop the Ukraine war, he said that it is not an easy task to end six wars so far, Putin and Zelensky also want to end the war, if things are right, we will have a trilateral meeting with Zelensky and Putin.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that we support Trump’s diplomatic efforts and are ready for trilateral talks, he made it clear that Ukraine needs everything on the issue of security guarantees, it is the responsibility of friendly countries, including the United States, to support us.

The German Chancellor said that we welcome Donald Trump’s announcement on security guarantees for Ukraine, the whole of Europe should participate in security guarantees for Ukraine. He said that security guarantees are necessary, this meeting with Trump was helpful, but the next steps are more complicated, everyone would like to see a ceasefire in Ukraine.

The French President said that he supports the idea of a ceasefire agreement, the British Prime Minister said that real progress can be made on security guarantees. European leaders also called for an immediate ceasefire and the start of trilateral talks.

During the meeting, the US president advised Zelensky to withdraw from Russian-occupied areas, but according to Reuters, Zelensky rejected Trump’s advice. The meeting was attended by the heads of the European Union, Britain, France, Germany, Italy, Finland and NATO.

Meanwhile, the Ukrainian president said in the press conference that we had a very good conversation with President Trump, we have urged the United States to provide security assurances for Ukraine. According to US media reports, Ukraine will buy $1.25 billion worth of American weapons, and Kiev will not give up control of Ukrainian forces, it wants a ceasefire before the peace deal, and wants Russia to pay compensation for the conflict.
